Conditioning

If you have your hair coloured or permed I would advise you to have regular deep conditioning treatments that incorporate a scalp massage to counter the drying effects these treatments can have. Deep conditioning treatments and scalp massage are not only beneficial to healthy hair, they are also very relaxing and can be carried out as frequently as you like. Restructurants are good for damaged hair but they should only be used as a limited course of treatment. Continuous use of restructurants will result in a build up on the hair making it brittle and prone to breaking.

Scalp massage

Don't forget the scalp , the hair grows from the root area in the scalp and depends on a good blood supply to feed the dermal papilla. The more blood there is flowing towards the hair papilla, the more the hair will grow. A scalp massage as part of a deep conditioning treatment is highly beneficial to healthy hair growth and condition. It is also claimed to be beneficial for some hair complaints such as alopecia areata. (but will make no difference to hereditary baldness)

Holistic approach

As well as being a qualified hairdresser, I am also qualified in Indian Head Massage and Thermo-Auricular Therapies. This enables me to analyse precisely what will be of maximum benefit to you and your hair, adopting a holistic approach to hair care.
