Hopi ear candles
Hopi Ear Candles are fast becoming another popular form of alternative/complementary therapies. Like many of these natural therapies, they have been handed down from ancient civilisations. Credit for this particular therapy goes to the native Pueblo Indians of North America who used this technique for both physical and spiritual purposes. Their great knowledge of natural healing and deep spirituality is rapidly gaining respect in the contemporary world.
What is it?
A Hopi Ear Candle is a special, hollow candle with a filter at one end and is made from the purest of ingredients; honey extracts, essential oil of sage, 100% pure beeswax, Traditional Indian herbs (mainly sage and camomile), beta-carotene and organically produced cotton.
How Does It Work?
The lighted candle is secured gently in the ear which then gently draws out impurities and excess wax from the ear.
The candle, which is hollow, works like a chimney. There is a mild suction resulting from the burning process which will draw out impurities into the lower section of the candle. The vibration caused by the rising air will gently massage the ear drum - which will help to regulate the pressures involved - giving what has been described as a "lighter feeling" in the ear and head areas.
The flow of air circulates a concentrate vapour of the herbal extracts, soothing, calming and protecting the irritated areas. The warmth of the flow stimulates the circulatory system and increases immune defence and cleansing. It also stimulates energy and reflex points.
